Welcome to the world my beloved daughter #2. Below are 2 links to some pictures that my wife and I took of our new baby girl. We took these in her nursery. It has great soft natural light with some nice color and there literally couldn't have a better place than there. We threw down our bed comforter and came up with some really great stuff. Check these out. After these we popped her in her rocking chair with the backdrop of a quilt my wife made for her and voila again we had some nice shots. I tried (on purpose) to process these images differenly giving the white ones a strong overexposed feel while making the other ones more vivid and deeper. They both turned out great, but thats easy with a beautiful little subject.

I've been able to upload some nice photography shots. I've had the chance to travel around a bit lately and have been excited to get some really good shots, specifically architectural & landscape shots. Click the pictures below to look at some examples.
Well, my first quarter ended and what a rush! (Not a good rush) super stressed and crazy hours makes it tough. BUT, its done and I really liked my final project. Click the picture below to jump to the pictures I posted of it.
As many of you know I've begun school at Cal Poly Pomona. It is INSANELY difficult trying to juggle School, Work, Money, Family, Sanity. But we are going to pull it off... well, because we have to. Click the link (picture) below to jump to my new SCHOOL PORTFOLIO page showing some of the things that we are working on in studio.
On our most recent vegas trip I had some time to myself so I looked up some interesting architecture and found out that Frank Gehry, probable THE most famous current architect alive had designed and recently built a building for a brain research facility. Take a look at his work... If you'd like to take a look at some other images I took that afternoon click here.
We took a trip to the beach and low and beyond there was an empty life guard tower in the small cove at corona del mar. The sun was just getting ready to set and so I thought I'd give a shot at some cool sun shots. The first turned out pretty good. I then took it home and stripped away the color by taking the saturation to 0. I then used a "lense filter" though electronic and selected sepia. I turned the sepia up to maximum and really liked what I got. So then i just kind of shaded the corners for some dramatic effect and this is what I got. It was actually fairly simple, i was surprised but the effect was awesome. I really like how it turned out, in fact I liked ti so much I did it similarly with another shot.
I've just completed my 2010 Portfolio for application to Cal Poly Pomona in California. Visit the 2010 portfolio page.
So the wife and I bought a new camera. I've always been a Nikon fan and ive also wanted a DSLR for who knows how long. So we decided to make picture taking and photography a sort of hobby for both of us. So here it is, our Nikon d5000 Since then, we've taken some very beautiful pictures the which you can take a look at by going to my photographic portfolio.
Like most people this year for thankgsgiving we spent it with some family. All sorts of pictures were taken and as usual there was talk of using the picture for this year's christmas card. The problem was that there weren't any pictures that were perfect enough to be used for christmas. So i told them we'd work it out and this is a tutorial on how that was done. Take a look at the before and after: First of all the thing that always has to go is the infamouse red-eye. I hadn't done alot of this so i of course hit the web. Here's a really good tutorial on how to remove the redeye with layers and layer blending... take a look: http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/photoshop/ht/apsredeye.htm This is the result the next step was to alter my neice's face seeing as in this pose everyone looked good except for her. So what I did was take this face and then copied it into the root picture. I then sized it with "ctrl+t" to make it the right size. I then used the rubber stamp tool and painted in her smile, nose and eyes over the original picture in order to get this. The next step was to take off the shine that was on my sister-in-laws face which I again hadn't really done before so i followed this tutorial http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=64087and and that gave me this the next step was to take the brightness down by just going to image>adjustment>brightness/contrast. I put the brightness down to like 30 and the contrast up to 20. This was almost the final step and made the picture look like this. the last and final step was to put a dark edge around the outside. I did this by making a new layer and then using a black to clear gradiant just along the edges. After I added the gradiant I changed the opacity until I liked how it looked. The final product looks like this.
I admit this is kind of a discusting picture but I just had to post it because it was so funny. This is a popular picture posted throughout the web that I got my hands on and edited as a joke about my boss. Take a look below to see the original: So, what I did was take my boss' face from this image: I then selected his face and pasted it as a new layer into the walmart picture. There was some sizing and roated that needed to be done to make them match so I used (ctrl+t) and then held shift to keep the proportions right as I scaled it down. I then used the same command to rotate the face to the right angle.
Once I had it possitioned correctly I placed it right over the walmart guy's head and then began erasing away the edges so that his face fell perfectly in line. It was a very simple procedure that I'm sure is very basic for some but I'm sure there are plenty of people that have always wanted to know how this sort of thing is done. The result was classic. |
